According to ISO 8402, traceability is “the ability to trace the history, application or location of an entity by means of recorded identifications.” And so our Each production batch is manufactured through operation inspection card (OIC) thoroughly inspected and tested for its conformity to the standard’s requirements and Upon satisfactory report, a product traceability number (PT#) is issued and Complete details right from Raw materials used for production to final Testing is recorded in our Traceability register detailing size, Mill heat #, Product Marking ,Heat treatment charge # Test record #., and fed in to our Test certificate program to maintain Traceability records and to make our Test Certificates .
This PT# is mentioned in all documents and also on each carton, thus enabling QC to trace back the history of any product, for future verification if required. Traceability enables manufacturers to accurately analyze the root cause of a product and necessary counter measures can be taken.
In the event a recall does take place, manufacturers are able to minimize the impact by only recalling those items with the specific serial numbers that were built with the faulty component, material or process – thus significantly reducing expenses and customer impact.
